- Is this screen cleaner safe for my marine electronics?
Absolutely! It is designed specifically to clean LCD screens. Unlike some glass and multi-purpose cleaners, it doesn't contain ammonia or alcohol which will strip the protective coating from your LCD electronics. Our cleaning cloth is soft enough so that it doesn't scratch your screen but it isn't so soft that it soaks up cleaner and wastes product.
- How does Wave Away compare to LCD cleaning wipes?
Most LCD cleaning wipes do an alright job at cleaning but they can leave streaks because they are soaked in cleaner. Our Wave Away kits contain a spray bottle of cleaner and a microfiber cloth. After cleaning your screen it's best to use the dry part of the cloth to buff so that it's streak free.
- What else can the cleaner be used for?
The screen cleaner has many other uses but here's a few: Sunglasses, LCD televisions, digital cameras, cellular phones, computer screens, auto navigation screens, MP3 players.
- Do I use the cleaner in the same way to clean electronics that aren't waterproof?
Our cleaner contains properties that resist from dripping down the screen which can cause damage to moisture sensitive electronics. To be completely safe, it's best to spray the cleaner directly on the cloth rather than on the screen in this case. This is just in case the spray bottle malfunctions and squirts more cleaner than it's supposed to. It's safe to spray the screen directly while cleaning waterproof electronics.
- Does it protect my electronics?
The screen cleaner does have anti-static properties that will keep dust from being attracted to the screen. It does not, however, add any "protective layer" to your screen. We have found that the best way to protect your electronics is by routinely cleaning them so that no build up can occur.
